ATS Resume Checklist

There is no universal ATS score. These checks help make your resume more readable to common parsing and search systems.

  1. Use recognizable headings such as Work Experience, Skills and Education.
  2. Keep role titles, employer names and dates in normal selectable text, not images.
  3. Test text extraction: copy your PDF into a plain-text editor and verify the reading order.
  4. Use keywords from the actual job posting only when they accurately describe your experience.
  5. Describe results with genuine, verifiable examples. Never invent numbers.
  6. Check consistent date formats, spelling and contact details.
  7. Follow the employer's preferred file format when specified.
